A photo was all it took to destroy her happiness, but she should have known that she was never meant to have a happy ending. Her father and ex-fiance had beat that into her almost taking her life. Now she had to leave before Adrian could see the truth in her eyes.
I loved this duet! Valentina and Adrian's story will take you for an emotional ride. Valentina didn't think she had any other choice than to run. In book one, Valentina has been broken by the torture she had suffered at the hands of those who were supposed to protect her, but circumstances make her finally fight back and out comes a woman no longer scared to speak her mind. The scared girl we met at the beginning of this story rose through the ashes to become a warrior.
Adrian changed from a overprotective smothering man to an angry betrayed man, but despite everything Valentina put him through he couldn't find it in himself to harm her. This story pulled out all my emotions and I couldn't put these books down until I finished. They are brutal, depraved, but smoldering hot.
These characters are full of emotion and go through major growth throughout the story. When Valentina finally decides to no longer be a victim she and Adrian clash because of his smothering protectiveness. These authors have especially brought Adrian to life for me. His rage and vulnerability made him one of my favorite characters.
There is a major twist at end of book and one sentence from Vow to Protect finally gets complete clarity. Highly recommend this duet and looking forward to Kai's story!
