REVIEW - LOCK by Kimberly Knight

Jackie sat in shock in the limo as Mr. Russo pulled his gun and shot her husband in the head. They had been walking to get her midnight craving when the limo pulled up next to them with the demand to get inside.

Her husband had not been a delivery man as she thought. He worked for Mr. Russo selling cocaine and Mr. Russo killed him for stealing. He had been selling the cocaine at a higher price and pocketing the extra.

She had expected to be killed next, but instead, Mr. Russo gave her a smirk telling her he had plans for her and her unborn child.

Zell is twelve years old and staring out the penthouse windows yearningly for the ducks in Central Park. Her weekly trips to feed the ducks had stopped. Now that she had her first womanly cycle she was put to work and no longer allowed to leave the brothel run by her mother... who preferred to be called Madam.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.

This has to be one of the best fairytale retellings I have read! Beware - this dark mafia romance contains non-consent and human trafficking and so many twists! Highly recommend!
