REVIEW - NIGHT HAWKE by Gwen McNamee

Nolan is sitting with his brother in a dive bar trying to decompress after graduating from law school in Chicago. Their family had boarded the plane back home earlier that day. He leaves for New Orleans in a few days to face the weight of his family's expectations.

The sexy redhead sitting at a high-top table across the room is the perfect distraction. One night before he leaves this city behind.

Jack had been glancing at him all night, but when he approached her table after her friend stepped outside to make a call she was stunned that he was even more gorgeous up close.

She knows that leaving the bar with a stranger is dangerous... especially since her little escape today, but if it was her only time from under her parent's control she was making the most of the night.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the prequel to The Hawke Family Second Generation series and has a cliffhanger so don't expect a HEA at the end.

But what a cliffhanger! One night wasn't enough and 36 hours later when he realizes that she left him sleeping without giving her real name he is livid. Throwing on his slacks, he haphazardly buttons his shirt and barefooot he starts running down the street of Chicago trying to get the SUV pulling away from the curb to stop.

This book is STEAMY hot and will keep you turning the pages. It's just one night and they'll never see each other again so they don't give their real names. Gwen McNamee leaves you with the perfect suspense with this prequel - what are the obligations that weigh on Nolan's shoulders? Why does Jack need to escape from her parents? Can't wait to see how Nolan and Jack reconnect! Highly recommend!
