REVIEW - RUTHLESS SAVAGE by Lilian Harris

The guard hands Devlin a letter. The one of many that he has received over the last year in his prison cell. Erui shows up weekly to visit even though he has refused to see her. Especially after she admitted her feelings in her first letter.

Not only is he too old for her, but she is his boss's youngest daughter. Too innocent to be involved with the enforcer of the Irish mob. Patrick Quinn was the only father figure he had and he wouldn't disrespect him by leading on his daughter. A daughter he had already failed when she was able to tamper with his drink which knocked him out allowing her to sneak out with her friend.

Now he was out on a technicality after murdering a man involved in human trafficking and had every intention of staying away until her kidnapping leads him to once again be her bodyguard.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Erui can't believe that her father has once again arranged a marriage for her. The last one she barely avoided, but Gio had been determined to marry her sister Iseult instead.

There was only one way to avoid this union, but did she have the courage to follow through? And how was she going to sneak past Devlin this time?

This is an age-gap mafia romance. It is action-packed, full of danger and smoking hot. This book has some surprising twists and major betrayals. Even though this book has its own HEA, Erui's the characters are recurring from the Messina Crime Family Series, including her sister Iseult's story Twisted Promises.

If you like dark romance you definitely want to add Lilian Harris to your one-click list. Highly recommend. Can't wait for Erui's brother's stories.
