***Synopsis***

Dax Dumont is a reclusive man who made a fortune founding a tech start up in Silicon Valley. He chose to seclude himself at an estate in picturesque Door County Wisconsin when his wife died four years ago.  They had what he thought was the perfect Daddy/little girl relationship and he was sure he would never find that perfect relationship again.

During a severe late winter storm, Dax rescues Dyani Deere when she goes off the road near his home. Dyani is fleeing a dangerous situation involving an ex and a casino crime ring at the Oneida Nation near Green Bay.

Dax is immediately taken with the vulnerable, innocent  and beautiful indigenous woman and takes her to his home until she can heal from injuries from the accident and get her car back.

Very soon, Dax realizes that Dyani’s submissive nature is a fit for his dominant one and his need to care for her and keep her safe ignites the spark for a quickly intense relationship. She responds almost immediately willingly accepting and entering into a little girl role to Dax’s Daddy. Though inexperienced with men and sex, Dyani is naturally sensual and was an uninhibited partner. That combined with her genuinely kind and gentle demeanor has him falling in love.

Dyani comes to care deeply about the ruggedly handsome but bossy man who tenderly cares for her yet handles her risk taking tendencies with over the knee consequences.

When the dangerous situation from which she was fleeing becomes more complicated and Dax tries to keep her safe,  Dyani feels compelled to take matters into her own hands by heading straight into the fray to save her best friend.

This tender story includes the unlikely meeting of two people from different cultures who discover common bonds so strong that an abiding love is born. There are spankings, danger and of course, a HEA.

All three books will have an alpha hero, DD/lg vibe and all the characters know each other—some having grown up in small Door County and others come to know each other.

What is the sub-genre and trope?  Did your characters lead you to this genre or was that decided before the story began?

Genres: Contemporary Romance

Subgenre: Alpha Hero

Trope: Daddy dom/little girl

Are you more character or plot driven?

I usually begin with characters and a loose story that evolves.

With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep them separated in your mind?  Do you have a story/vision board above your workspace?

I keep character descriptions and relationships in notes on my desktop.

I know from previous interviews that characters take on a life of their own.  Were any of the characters in this series determined to take their own direction instead of where you initially wanted them to go?

The characters and how they might react to the story lives in my mind while working on a book. Sometimes they surprise me.

Are any of the male/female POVs based on anyone you know?

The male and female POVs are composites of people I know, have heard of or have read about.

Was there any one character/scene that was harder to write about than the other?

Once in a while, a story will lead me into the path of a personal trigger and that makes writing hard. That did not happen with this book.

What is your favorite book in the series?

The Billionaire’s Little Girl is the first book in the series.

I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?

Dyani is my favorite character. Though she is young and naïve she seems to understand herself and remains true to who she is. She is kind, loving, brave and strong. I love her devotion to her heritage (Oneida).

How do you get inside these characters’ heads to find their perfect HEA?

By the time I’ve reached the end, I know the characters quite well so writing a conclusion that is happy for both is not difficult.

What scene in this book/series sticks out the most for you?  Why?

The epilogue always makes me tear up.

How long did it take you to write this book/series?

It depends on the time of year and the chaos level of my life but generally it takes two to three months for me to complete a book.

How did you come up with the title for your book and series?

The idea to do a series set in Door County came to me first. The place is geographically beautiful and because it is a resort area in the warmer months, the diversity of people living there is rich.

There are so many romantic possibilities. So Door County Daddies came first. Then I knew I wanted the series to have DD/lg tropes and I began with a billionaire because they are popular characters.

If you met these characters in real life would you get along?

I would like Dyani immediately but Dax would have to grow on me.

Series question – Did you know in advance that you were going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand their own story?

As I said earlier, the location of the book begs for a series. This could be a long series! Sometimes I begin a story and then introduce a couple whose relationship already existed.

Then I stop where I am and go back and write that story which ends up being the first in the series chronologically.

For Door County Daddies I actually had three books in mind when I began and then stopped to write a Door County story for a Christmas anthology put out by the publisher. This series has my mind spinning.

If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?

I would like someone like Gerard Butler to play Dax and Dyani could be Kelsey Asbille Chow who plays Monica in Yellowstone.

Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect next?  Whether a new book and series or a sequel to an existing series?  Can you share a small tease?

It is probably clear to all readers of The Billionaire’s Little Girl that Annie and Lukas will be the subjects of the next book.

BIO:

After a life changing tragedy, I challenged myself to do something I had always wanted to do -write a romance series.

So I am thrilled that I now have two series released.

I remember learning to read at age four and never stopped. Writing came later but that also became a lifelong passion.

I believe the gift of story came from my mother and was so deeply instilled that I logically became a children’s librarian and professional storyteller.

I now spend my days working part time in a crisis center, enjoying family and friends in the comfort of the lakeside neighborhood where I grew up, and of course, happily writing romance.

BLURB:

Dax had thought he would never find a little girl to love again after his wife died, so he closed himself off in his estate high above Lake Michigan, in Door County. And she was in need of a Daddy who could keep her safe from looming danger, a Daddy who would discipline her when she needed it and love her through it all.

Publisher's Note: This steamy, contemporary romance contains elements of power exchange.
