***Synopsis***

A mysterious ivory fan, a surprise marriage, and the suspicion a witch was among them…

In the great house of Cedar Ridge, secrets whispered along the corridors and hidden crevices. The morning sunlight upon the walls of the museum cast a deceiving appearance of serenity. There were those who wouldn’t know gentle repose, who must be denied peace, because the walls within harbored dangerous and frightening secrets.

The residents of Locke Bay were aware of a stranger in their midst. A woman whose presence was felt by all. Many would soon be aware of her presence and the mystery surrounding her.

What is the sub-genre and trope?  Did your characters lead you to this genre or was that decided before the story began?

Sci-fi time travel, paranormal

With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep them separated in your mind?  Do you have a story/vision board above your workspace?

I have notes, always notes and lots of notebooks.

I know from previous interviews that characters take on a life of their own.  Were any of the characters in this series determined to take their own direction instead of where you initially wanted them to go?

Yes, in book 3. Keoni Nani.

Now that it’s gone the way it did, I think he deserves his own story.

Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?

Yes, I have but I must admit, I rarely do that.

In book 3, I don’t know him personally, but I did get the name Keoni from a workout video I love doing.

Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?

Yes, I have in several of my books.

Was there any one character/scene that was harder to write about than the other?

Not in this series, but in a prior series, in order to stay with history, I had to kill off Sitting Bull. Silly me. I cried, and cried. I didn’t write for days because I didn’t want to have to re-read what I’d written.

What is your favorite book in the series?

That’s a hard one. I originally thought book 3, The Museum, but I think Book 2, Locke Manor. It just pulls in book 1 and 3 and make it just …muah!

I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?

I’ve published over 70 books/stories- fiction and nonfiction. Over 20 are fiction. Each character has their own special personality that you’ll either love or love to hate.

Series question - Who is your favorite couple and why did you decide on their dynamics?

Concerning Cedar Ridge Series, that would give away the end…

How do you get inside these characters’ heads to find their perfect HEA?

Life experiences. They’re the cat’s meow!

How long did it take you to write this book/series?

I researched for about six months, writing notes about how I wanted to tie it all in. Once I started writing, about two years for all three books.

How did you come up with the title for your book and series?

Friends of ours own a ranch and it’s named Cedar Ridge Ranch. I like it, it felt right for the story.

If you met these characters in real life would you get along?

With most of them, yes.

Series question – Did you know in advance that you were going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand their own story?

Absolutely. By the time we finished touring the Ohio Reformatory, the whole series was in my head. I started jotting down information and ideas before my husband had pulled out of their parking lot.

Two characters have their own story. Skies of Blue is about Janet, an employee of the museum. It’s associated with the series but not part of it. And, Keoni, which I haven’t started writing yet.

If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?

That’s not hard to decide. The cover model, John Antorino, is an actor so he would definitely have to play the male lead. Kaley Cuoco with dark hair would be Thalia.

Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect next?  Whether a new book and series or a sequel to an existing series?  Can you share a small tease?

I have no idea whether to do Keoni’s story or the time travel I have rushing around my head right now. The time travel is leaning toward a rom-com which I’ve never written so … we’ll see.

The time travel has a woman, extremely pleased with herself because she just got a promotion, a huge raise, and a brand new tesla when she comes across an anomaly and lands (on her butt) in the middle of a dirt road to the sound of a cowboy laughing because she bounced around like a tumbleweed and he proceeds to call her tumbleweed through most of the story.

A jealous and angry witch was among them…

Thalia Jefferies believed the danger at the Cedar Ridge Hills Museum had passed and life could begin with new dreams and second chances.

The corridors and hidden crevices in the great house on the crest of the hill whispered warnings of an evil presence. The malevolent danger was as strong and relentless as the waves from Superior.

She had to find help and create a campaign, a series of battles to prove she, too, had the resources to pit powers against the witch's dreadful plans for her future.

The battle lines were drawn.
