***Synopsis***

The Guardians of Chaos are the champions of magic, keeping it free for all creatures to use. Their motto is “from chaos comes creation” and nothing is more important than that in the supernatural community. Each book within this series features a specific guardian and tells the tale of how he or she meets their fated mate. Enjoy fast-paced, action-packed urban fantasy romance with Werewolves, Dragons, Panthers, Stallion Shifters, Witches, Vampires and more in this exciting series.

What is the sub-genre and trope?  Did your characters lead you to this genre or was that decided before the story began?

Almost all of my series are primarily paranormal romances with elements of urban fantasy, humor, and action mixed in. All of my books are under what I call the Grazi Kelly Universe, named for my first ever heroine, you can check her out for free in Wolf Moon books2read.com/gk1.

Are you more character or plot driven?

Definitely character driven as all of my books are romances first.

Each story focuses on the main characters, but I love to throw in some cameos from past couples, references to towns or business, and you can count on my home state of NJ being either a setting or the birthplace for one or both MCs.

With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep them separated in your mind?  Do you have a story/vision board above your workspace?

I do have a sheet where I try and write everything and everyone down to keep tabs, but with over one hundred stories published it can get messy. LOL.

I know from previous interviews that characters take on a life of their own.  Were any of the characters in this series determined to take their own direction instead of where you initially wanted them to go?

Well, funny you should ask that. In Wolf Shield, I initially imagined the heroine, Fergie, as a demure damsel in distress.

What I got was a loud, feisty female with a penchant for expensive shoes.

Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?

Storm, the hero, is based on several guys I knew growing up though not on any one in particular.

He is sexy, muscular, dark haired and bright eyed. Just the sort of strong, silent, possessive male to keep fulfill even the most avid romance readers’ dreams (I hope.)

Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?

I imagine same goes for Fergie where she is the embodiment of several sassy amazing women, I have had the pleasure of knowing.

The youngest of six daughters, I had more than my share of totally out of the box thinking females to influence me and my work.

Was there any one character/scene that was harder to write about than the other?

Yes. The fight scenes are always rough because I have to remember my guys are good guys and they don’t kill without reason. Having to choose justice over bloodlust is not always easy.

What is your favorite book in the series?

Hard to say as I love them all.

I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?

LOL. This is actually easier to answer than you think. All of them. And no it is not cheating because not at once. Whoever I am working on tends to be my favorite at that time. This way, they all really have been my faves at one time or other.

Series question - Who is your favorite couple and why did you decide on their dynamics?

I love Storm and Fergie because they are so different. He’s a Wolf Shifter and a Guardian of Chaos with a duty to his vows, but he finds his mate unexpectedly one night in a parking lot of all places being attacked by some bad dudes.

Fergie is a human with no knowledge of the supernatural world, yet she is fated to be with a Wolf! Should she run away screaming or just accept that her attraction to the smexy male is more than meets the eye? Decisions, decisions…

How do you get inside these characters’ heads to find their perfect HEA?

I do a lot of my work cerebrally, so thinking is like 85% of my writing process. After that, I am already in my characters’ heads so writing the perfect ending doesn’t take all that much effort cause I already have it locked up in my noggin.

What scene in this book/series sticks out the most for you?  Why?

I love when Fergie first sets eyes on Storm. She is being attacked by creatures but all she can think of is how sexy he is. 😉

Series - Were any of the books harder to write than others?

I think a lot about destiny and what it means to be an author when I write. I truly believe this is a calling, so no, I can’t say this is hard work or that any one book was harder than the others, but I do work very hard.

Every book is like chiseling at my soul and banging it with that hammer until it turns into language. So, yeah, they are all kind of hard.

This question is if you write in MULTIPLE POVs not just the hero and heroine - I love the multiple POVs in a book.  It’s not just the hero and heroine, but we get inside the heads of multiple characters throughout this series.  I feel that it gives the story further depth.  Do you think you will write another book or series following this multiple POV outline?

I sometimes include a third POV in the prologue of a book, otherwise head-hopping can be a bit dangerous for writers, especially romance writers.

How long did it take you to write this book/series?

I don’t really know since I believe I start writing when I start thinking and that means could have been well over a year in the making.

How did you come up with the title for your book and series?

Oooh, those I tend to get on inspiration when creating the cover image.

If you met these characters in real life would you get along?

I’d probably be drooling over the guys but I sure hope so.

Series question – Did you know in advance that you were going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand their own story?

Yes, because I was looking to create a story about a group of different supernatural creatures versus the usual Pack or Clan. So, I knew they would be a group and I knew each one would get his or her own story.

If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?

Tough one. I think I’d love to see Isla Fisher as Fergie and Joe Manganiello as Storm.

Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect next?  Whether a new book and series or a sequel to an existing series?  Can you share a small tease?

Witch Shield is my most recent release, came out June 30th, in the Guardians of Chaos Series and book 6, Vampire Shield is currently on preorder. You can read about both on my website here: https://www.cdgorri.com/series/guardians-of-chaos
