REVIEW - THE AMIABLE LADY FOR HIS LORDSHIP by Dorothy Sheldon

Jane Dawson is the oldest daughter of Viscount Nordale.  Since her mother's death, her father has fallen into drinking and gambling and after he lost their Mayfair home they moved to the country.  And now she and her sister are homeless.  Their father was found dead and their home was being taken to pay off his gambling debts.

Their Aunt Sylvia is excited to give Jane a season and she is hopeful that she can find a great match so she can support her thirteen-year-old sister, Edith.  Their Uncle Harris owns a gaming hall and when he finds out that she handled the household accounts he asks for her help to find out who has been stealing from him.

Daniel Talbot, the Earl of Delshire, had accompanied his friend to the gaming hall last night and was leaving to return home when he almost runs down a caped woman.  When the hood falls back he is enchanted and determined to return to find out who this mysterious woman is.

I really enjoyed this book.  It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.  This book is action-packed, full of intrigue and danger.

Jane is determined to find the person responsible for stealing from her uncle and hopes to find a love match like her aunt and uncle.  Daniel is on the hunt for his mysterious woman while trying to avoid his mother's matchmaking efforts.

Highly recommend.
