Dyani had messed up big time! In running for her life she was ill-prepared for getting caught in a snowstorm having packed rapidly and leaving before her boyfriend returned.
Never having many friends she was the perfect target for Brant and before she knew what was happening he had moved in with her. She knew when he stole her credit card and emptied her checking account she should have kicked him out, but when he paid off the debt and promised it would never happen again she had fell for his lies.
Because they were lies...he was now addicted to drugs and had massive gambling debts and was threatening her life if she didn't sell her grandfather's home along with giving him the money she collected from his life insurance.
So now she is miles away from home and caught in a snow storm with nowhere to pull over. When she sees a huge truck approaching from behind she tries to pull over only to lose control and crash her car. How much worse can things get?
I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is a Daddy/lg romance and if you don't like books with power exchange and spankings this is not the book for you.
Dyani is a mess. She definitely needs a keeper and even I had moments I wanted to shake her and tell her to think before acting. I did love reading about her heritage and the Oneida Indian Nation.
Dax is very protective and isn't beyond spanking to get his point across when Dyani puts herself in continued danger.
This book is action-packed from page one. It is an age-gap romance full of danger, intrigue and smoking-hot chemistry. This is the first time I have read anything by Hannah Kane and plan to read more in the future! The storyline and characters kept me turning the pages and I look forward to more Door County stories.
