Taran wrote a sports gossip blog and monthly feature for Sports Illustrated and she couldn't believe what her boss had just told her. If she couldn't find gossip, make it up and make a retraction the next day but he expected a story.
It was bad enough being a woman in this industry and she didn't need her ethics questioned regardless of what he tells her to do. She already had an impossible list of his top-five must-have athlete features by the end of the year.
Corey Matthews was the starting pitcher for the NY Metros and is furious that this pint-sized reporter is blackmailing him to do a story after overhearing his conversation with Clayton Evans who was expected to be this year's first-draft pick.
Corey hates reporters after growing up in the spotlight with two famous parents who used him to one-up each other in their bid to be the most popular. The last thing he needed was to have a gossip reporter hanging around.
Another wonderful story about the Evans family. This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This family is highly involved in each other's lives and I recommend that you start with book one in the series to get the full story behind this amazing family.
Corey's story really begins in book one and to truly understand his aversion to the press you really need to know that history and its full devastation. I love how Jenni Bara has melded Taran's story with past events and how they blend effortlessly into this story.
This book is action-packed, full of angst and misunderstandings with tons of smoking-hot chemistry. Highly recommend this series!
