Danny is a frog...a magic frog, but no one ever notices him. You don't notice what you don't want to see because you don't want to believe...like magic. It's everywhere, but no one sees it.
The witch he had been engaged to had turned him into a frog when she caught him cheating. Initially, he had been pissed because frogs don't have male genitalia, but now he loves being a frog. He thought it was the best thing that has ever happened to him. Danny had found a group of other guys who had been turned into animals for doing their girls wrong and started a business together. A delivery business.
He has tons of magic money since he doesn't have to pay rent or the other things he had to worry about being a human. And even though he didn't need to wear clothes, he wore them anyway which left him with tons of money to spend on gadgets.
When his pigeon friend Gabito tells him the Princess of Atlantis has been missing for a week and her father is granting a wish to the one who gives information on where to find her. He knows exactly what he would wish for.
I loved this magical retelling. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Danny is the stereotypical clueless NY Italian man and the misunderstandings were hilarious. This is a short read, but it is action-packed as Danny tries to rescue the Mermaid princess.
I was left confused at the end of the story as to whether there would be another book as it seemed to end with a further plot to come. Other than that, I really enjoyed the book and if you are looking for a funny sweet paranormal read, I highly recommend you read One Dark and Froggy Night.
