SYNOPSIS:
Dragged out Kicking and Screaming Blurb:
A priest, a rabbi, and a minister walk into a bar…
Wait. That’s not it.
Why did the chicken cross the road...?
Heck. That’s not it either.
Oh, here we go. An agoraphobic meets the man of his dreams who has made it his life’s ambition to not only pull me out of the closet, but also from the safety of my self-imposed prison.
Except it’s not a joke.
It’s my life.
His name is Dr. Soren Delgado, and he’s my mother’s oldest friend. I’ve watched him for as long as I can remember. Until he up and left when I was twelve.
A decade later… he’s back.
This time, I’m not the only one watching...
Love and Unity is a collection of steamy and sweet reads with sexy, Alpha males, and the other half of their hearts who brought them to their knees.
What is the sub-genre and trope? Did your characters lead you to this genre or
was that decided before the story began?
They were pretty open about tropes, only that it was romance. There’s several different tropes included.
Mine is an MM Forbidden romance.
Are you more character or plot driven?
I’m all about the characters and how they’ll react to all the turmoil I make them endure. (Cue evil laughter)
With many main and secondary characters, how do you
keep them separated in your mind? Do you
have a story/vision board above your workspace?
I always begin with a detailed outline and character list.
Although some characters pop up that I don’t originally plan. They can be a nuisance.
I know from previous interviews that characters take
on a life of their own. Were any of the
characters in this series determined to take their own direction instead of
where you initially wanted them to go?
Yes! They can be really pushy too.
Fortunately, the guys in this particular story stuck to the original script. I don’t blame them because they were definitely satisfied.
Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?
I sometimes write about people I know but mostly they only live inside my head.
Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?
Most of my female characters are my opposite. I tend to be shy and they are typically in your face.
Was there any one character/scene
that was harder to write about than the other?
I just finished writing about a serial killer that was super heavy, at times depressing. So I needed to stick to fluffy smut for my sanity.
I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?
I love Dr. Delgado, he’s so sexy and confident.
How do you get inside these character’s heads to find their perfect HEA?
Grayson was a hard nut to crack, definitely his own worst enemy.
Fortunately Soren was bossy enough to pull him out of his comfort zone so he was able to get what he wanted.
What scene in this book/series sticks out the most for
you? Why?
I enjoyed when they visited an art museum and discussed a painting depicting Icarus because it mirrored Grayson’s own life.
How long did it take you to write this book?
This is a shorter novella and I was able to finish the first draft in two to three weeks.
How did you come up with the title for your book?
Dragged Out Kicking and Screaming felt like the most obvious choice about a gay agoraphobic man being pushed out of the closet.
If you met these characters in real life would you get
along?
As a fellow introvert, Grayson and I would be total besties. And I would have a huge crush on Soren so I’d probably weird him out.
If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?
Oooh fun!
Grayson would be played by Tom Holland and Soren would be played by Thomas John Ellis (Lucifer)
Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect
next? Whether a new book and series or a
sequel to an existing series? Can you
share a small tease?
Next up for me is a naughty priest book.
