REVIEW - THAT SHIP HAS SAILED by HM Thomas

Courtney was looking at the ship's banner and asked Ashley if there was something she forgot to mention about the cruise. Ashley had told her they were just going to enjoy this cruise her company paid for. Nope...not happening. Courtney glared at her as she grabbed the handle of her suitcase and headed for the exit.

A LOVE AT SEA singles' cruise banner is right before her.  She can't go on a singles cruise! She is still dealing with the death of her husband and has no plans to ever go through the pain of losing someone again. So, just no.

Seth was watching the couples out on the dance floor wondering again why he was there. The summer wildfire season had been brutal and he had jumped at the chance when his friend Zack had an extra ticket for this cruise. Except Zack neglected to tell him it was a singles cruise.

I loved this story.  It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.  This is book two in a multi-author series and has recurring characters for each author to weave into their story including Gertrude.  I won't spoil her for you but this woman is a hoot and that is on top of her eye-catching cane!

We get a tease of Courtney and Seth's story as Courtney and Ashley's altercation at the luggage check-in was noticed by our male hero in book one of the series as he is boarding the ship.  I'm sure there will be other Easter eggs throughout this eight-book series.

Courtney is a widow who has no time for a relationship.  She has lived through the death of one husband and has no intention of repeating the heartache.  Between being a smoke jumper and professional snowboarder Seth just doesn't have room for a relationship as he is never in one place long enough even if he was interested.

This book is action-packed from page one and has all the feels.  Courtney's description of the 'floating orgasm machine' had me choking on laughter.  There is also a major laugh-out-loud moment from the speed-dating function in book one that is even funnier when you see it from the character's POV.

This is the first time I have read anything by HM Thomas and it won't be the last.  If you want a laugh-out-loud smoking hot rom-com...here you go!  Highly recommend!
