She loves traveling and takes the opportunity to people-watch as she waits by the baggage carousel in the Detroit airport. When she started her job as social media manager at Clay Fire she was excited about all the travel that was required and is in Michigan to help with the grand opening of the newest store in their chain and is so looking forward to exploring the tiny tourist towns nearly.
She finally arrives at the rental house she will be staying for the next six weeks and is struggling with her luggage when she hears the opening of a nearby door and there stands one of the hottest men she’s ever seen. Jeans and a plain white t-shirt should not make him look like a model. Even his bare feet are gorgeous…wait, what? This gorgeous barefoot man is standing in the doorway of her rental.
Yates
could have sworn he canceled the booking when he moved in two weeks ago. But he is looking at ‘confirmed’ on the
rental website he had just pulled up on his computer. The old owners had moved south and were
getting too many rental bookings and decided to sell instead. They had told him about the booking, but he had
told them he would take care of the cancellation. He was so busy moving in he had forgotten.
I totally enjoyed this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Arlowe is a newer member of the Meet Cute Book Club and besides the one Zoom get-together the rest of the book club crew aren't part of this story. But I do love the extended characters in Arlowe and Yates's story.
This book was action-packed from page one and I was able to finish it in one sitting. This small-town rom com will warm your heart. I felt a particular connection to Arlowe as I used to have my own ceramic business and taught ceramics. There was only one instance that bothered me when Arlowe was making a candy dish, but it was only minor and only a ceramicist would have noticed.
This is the first time I have read Rebecca Wilder, but I will definitely be adding her to my one-click authors. Her storyline was very engaging and the characters', both main and secondary, relationships were what friends are all about. Highly recommend!
