Werewolves and humans have a treaty. The werewolves keep them safe so long as the town offers it’s young women once a year to the wolves. No one has been taken since the first offering over 100 years ago. Until this year, when two women, best friends, are taken at the offering.
What is the sub-genre and trope? Did your characters lead you to this genre or was that decided before the story began?
It’s a paranormal romance with primal kink and fated mates.
Are you more character or plot driven?
Character typically. Sometimes the plot leads the way though!
With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep
them separated in your mind? Do you have
a story/vision board above your workspace?
I don’t have a storyboard so it’s just the way it is in my head.
I have no idea how I can keep them all separate. Especially with over 50 books!
I know from previous interviews that characters take on a
life of their own. Were any of the
characters in this series determined to take their own direction instead of
where you initially wanted them to go?
Yes. Lizzie. If you read it, I think you’ll know exactly why!
Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?
Nope! With this one being PNR, it really is separate from so much I’m used to.
Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?
Same as above!
Was there any one character/scene
that was harder to write about than the other?
Yes. The darker scenes sometimes are very difficult for me to write. Especially scenes with child abuse.
What is your favorite book in the series?
Definitely the first is my favorite, when everything starts to unfold.
I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far
as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?
Carter Cross from All He’ll Ever Be. He really took charge and demanded things that ended up changing a lot about how I write and let the stories flow.
Series question - Who is your favorite couple and why did
you decide on their dynamics?
I love the alpha and his mate, Devin (werewolf) and Grace (human).
I wanted her to challenge him, yet still desire his dominance. It’s just the sexiest thing to me.
How do you get inside these characters’ heads to find
their perfect HEA?
I have no idea. It just comes to me.
What scene in this book/series sticks out the most for
you? Why?
The first moment Grace goes into heat. It was a lot of fun to write and allowed me to play with primal kink in a way I hadn’t before.
Series - Were any of the books harder to write than
others?
All 3 have flowed wonderfully for me so far. (fingers crossed that it keeps up!)
This question is if you write in MULTIPLE POVs not just
the hero and heroine - I love the multiple POVs in a book. It’s not just the hero and heroine, but we
get inside the heads of multiple characters throughout this series. I feel that it gives the story further
depth. Do you think you will write
another book or series following this multiple POV outline?
This series does that! It feels a bit Game of Thrones style but for PNR smut!
How long did it take you to write this book/series?
I’m writing one book a year for this saga and it’s still going!
How did you come up with the title for your book and series?
No clue! I just kept playing around until something felt right.
If you met these characters in real life would you get
along?
Yes to the heroines, definitely. For the heroes, I think they would be standoffish at first.
Series question – Did you know in advance that you were
going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand
their own story?
I never know what I will write next or how many books anything will be until I start writing and the characters make demands.
If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors
do you see as playing your characters?
Omogsh, I can absolutely see All He’ll Ever Be being a TV Show on HBO with Ryan Reynolds playing any character at all that he wants because I love him.
Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect
next? Whether a new book and series or a
sequel to an existing series? Can you
share a small tease?
I’m writing in four worlds: a small town, a dark romance crime family, paranormal world, and I have a fantasy I’m writing for my newsletter. I am having a blast!

I started writing after having my little girl, Evie, December of 2015. All during my pregnancy with her I read. I only wanted to read romance novels and I read everything I could get my hands on. I would read a book a day — sometimes two. In January I was staying up late with her and just thinking of all these stories. They came to me constantly. I finally sat down and just started writing. I always wanted to do it so I figured, why not?
His chiseled jaw and silver gaze haunts both my nightmares and my dreams, though I’ve only ever gotten a glimpse of either.
There’s a treaty between us and them; mere mortals and the ones who terrify but keep us safe. The contract demands that every year there’s an offering and this year I’ll walk across that stage presenting myself.
We have no idea what to expect if they choose someone, since they haven’t done so in generations.
The only thing we know is that the ones they take belong to them forevermore. If chosen, you don’t come back, or so the story of the treaty goes.
Gather and present yourself.
This is the offering …
… and I … belong to him.
From USA Today best-selling author, Willow Winters, comes a tempting tale of fated love, lust-filled secrets and the beginnings of an epic war.
Never in my life could I have prepared for what fate had in store for me. Or for any of us.
Our tales are intertwined and destiny saw fit to give me to a beast of a man who would die for me. He longs for me and I for him, but my past is riddled with a darkness and our present with deception and the whispers of war.
Everything warns me that my life will change forever. That the world will crumble and burn. I don’t know what will happen or what will become of us. All I know is that, in his eyes, I belong to him.
This is book 3 of the To Be Claimed Saga. Wounded Kiss is book 1 and should be read first.
