REVIEW - BLOODY CRUEL PSYCHO by Lucy Smoke

Clover La Roux had given him all the power hoping he wanted more than just revenge, s3x and power.  She wanted him to want her.  But now she is driving as fast as she can in the pouring rain to put as much distance between them as she can.

But she is also Evgenia Volkov the daughter of a runaway Russian mobster and the sister of someone who hurt a girl that he cared about.  Now she is hours away from having a full-on mental breakdown and as her tears fall she thinks about how the tears never mattered to him.  Her tears were a turn on to him.  And she hated herself even more because she had been turned on by his cruelty.

She is Clover and she is Evgenia.  One is good...one is bad, but they were both her...and both sides were crazy for the bloody cruel psycho.

Braxton had been sixteen years old and the blood is running openly from the wounds of the whip coming down on his back.  The taste of blood in his mouth as he bites down to keep from making a sound.  The only way to survive is to clear his mind of the past, the future and realize there is only a now.  The only thing keeping him upright are the chains hanging from the ceiling in the basement of the Smalls' family mansion.

Chains meant to hold up punching bags until the bags are removed and then become chains of discipline, punishment and hatred.  Some call Braxton evil, but he has looked into Evil's eyes and they belong to his father, Elric Smalls.

I loved this book!  It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.  If you like dark romance then you will love this story.  Braxton...gorgeous...rich...who became a monster after being tortured by his father.  He had to become a worse monster or not survive.

All Clover wants in life is to be wanted.  Everyone wants something from her, but not her.  She has tried to harness the monster inside, but soon realizes it is the only way to survive.

This book is action packed from page one.  If you aren't a reader of dark romance this may not be the book for you as it contains torture, kidnapping, non-consent and violence.  Braxton's personality grabs you even through the pages of your Kindle.  That man is intense.

Braxton realizes too late what he has in Clover after she runs.  This book leaves you with anticipation of their reunion to have a shocking twist instead.  Beware this book does leave you with a cliffhanger, but don't let that stop you!

Braxton and his friends are not heroes.  They are definitely in the anti-hero category, but I love their relationship with each other and how they will do anything to protect each other.  I haven't read the previous books in this series and I'm looking forward to starting from the beginning to see how these Sick Boys began.
