The rain was coming down hard and making the highway slippery as Bloom drove over the Seven Mile Bridge into the Florida Keys. She had to repeat to herself how much she loved her job as a journalist. Her parents were disappointed that didn't heed their Georgia Peach training and follow the life of pageantry. Luckily, her younger sister loved the attention leaving Bloom free to study.
It was too late now to realize she hadn't taken the weather conditions and the remoteness of her destination into account when she left Miami at night. Who expected such bad weather and road conditions in the spring? So now she's driving in the pitch dark in thunderous rain trying not to damage her Maserati as she avoids potholes and again reminding herself that this is her dream job.
She had been excited when one of her college buddies had invited her to be a part of his business The Free Press and finally talked him into letting her chase an old story about the reclusive billionaire philanthropist Austin Aster who had dropped out of sight three years ago.
When she finally arrived at the B&B she asked if there was a place nearby to eat as she was starving after missing breakfast and lunch. As she was sitting at the bar two men came and sat on either side of her, but what really caught her attention was the gorgeous man who had just entered and sat at the other end of the bar. When the two men refused to let her leave, Mr. Gorgeous came to her rescue, but she soon found out that her rescuer blamed her for the predicament she found herself in and was not happy.
Another great book by Rogue London. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Bloom is the Governor of Georgia's daughter and her political minded parents were not happy that she decided to bypass the life of a socialite and studied journalism instead. But, she had a bad habit of doing without thinking and ended up in situations any beautiful woman hated to be in.
After the death of his grandfather, Ace needed to have a reset and although he was annoyed that Bloom kept finding herself in these situations, he wanted to do more than protect her. He was delighting in the chance to teach her what happens to bratty women who don't watch out for their safety.
This book is steamy hot, action packed, and full of danger, suspense and intrigue from page one. I have driven the Seven Mile Bridge so I immediately bonded with Bloom as I knew her frustration. This is not just another Daddy Dom book where there is nothing but spanking and other BDSM elements. There is a mystery to be solved and it is full of twists and turns.
Highly recommend this book and if you haven't read Rogue London you are missing out.
