AUDIOBOOK REVIEW - HER VIKING WOLF by Theodora Taylor

Chloe was a shifter she-wolf engaged to the alpha wolf prince, Rafe.  Chloe loved her blog and YouTube show Black Mountain Woman, but Rafe didn't understand her obsession with doing everything by hand like you would in the olden days.  Depending only on yourself and not technology.  He thought once they were married her little 'hobby' would be set aside.

He was also getting frustrated with her because they haven't mated.  She was uncomfortable talking to him about sex and it was unusual to be twenty-five and had still not come into heat.  Every time he wanted to talk about her heat night, she tried to turn the conversation.  As they are walking they hear a crackling sound that can only mean one thing.  Someone had been thrown from the portal.

The portal had been used in the past as a punishment to banish offenders to another time and place but in their modern times you rarely saw criminals arriving and the portal was used more to travel to their fated mate.

Sure enough, they turn the corner and find a huge shape on the ground.  The man is huge with the hard muscles of his back uncovered wearing only a pair of leather pants.  He has long flaming red hair and a beard reminding them of a Viking.  The huge sword in his hand furthers those thoughts.

Fenrus's aunt was handing him a cloth on which she had written a fated mate's spell.  Told him when he spoke the words the portal would take him to his fated mate.  When he told her again how he didn't want any mate, let alone a fated one, she ignored him as usual.  He was the King of Norway's wolves and had no interest in leaving his home, but she told him the reverse side had the words that both he and his fated mate needed to repeat together in order for him to return to this time and place.

Deciding not to let any of the troublesome she-wolves find this spell he tucks the cloth in his pants and turns to get ready to bathe.  As he turns around he finds his cousin Vedar behind him with four other men who had been banished for crimes committed.  As great a fighter as he was, even he couldn't win with five against one odds, so he grabs the cloth and utters the spell his aunt had written.

I love this story!  I have read many time travel romances, but this is the first about shifters.  The story is well written and Clementine Dove brought these characters to life.  The emotions in this story came through both from Theodora Taylor's writing but also Clementine Dove's narration.

I highly recommend this story and especially as told through Clementine Dove's narrative.
