REVIEW - DOUBLE VISION by Elizabeth Hunter

Julia was fifty-one and was way too young to be having a heart incident.  Her ex-husband and business partner and his new husband convinced her to leave the stress of LA and move into their pool house in Palm Springs.  Dean would turn his focus to commercial real estate and she could do residential.  Giving them both time to relax and semi-retire.

Julia and Dean had only been married three years and ended in divorce only because she didn't want children, but it was his dream.  He now had two thirteen-year-old twin daughters that he and his husband Sergio doted on.

Leaving the pool house, Julia joins the monthly dinner party around the pool.  The partygoers were an eclectic bunch - some were dressed in caftans, some casual and a few were dressed as if they stepped straight out of the 1920s.

Sergio was determined that Julia only show one home at a time contending that it was only three months ago that she had her heart attack and he had the perfect house as it was just down the street.  The next morning she decides to get some exercise and walk to the property.  When she walks into the gorgeous estate she gets a feeling that she is not alone, but brushes it off until she walks into the kitchen and almost trips over a dead body.

She recognizes him as the young personal chef and lover to a sixty-year-old previous award winning actress that she had seen at last night's party.  They had been lounging at the pool and he had been feeding her grapes.  She calls Dean immediately not only because she is freaked out because just found a dead body, but the man standing over him is Justin...the dead man.

I so loved this book!  It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.  This is a slow burn romantic murder mystery.  Julia met Evy and Vivian at Sergio's monthly dinner party and when Julia discovers that she now is seeing and speaking to the ghost of Justin...who she just can't get rid of...Evy says her Aunt Maria can help.

Unfortunately, for Julia, Evy and Aunt Marie's dentist Vivian, Aunt Marie decides to help the women along...but not how they wished.  Julia now has more ghosts talking to her, Evy is hearing people's thoughts and Vivian is able to feel emotions and thoughts when she touches someone.

This unlikely match of a realtor, ventriloquist and dentist (Sergio's Angels) set out to solve Justin's murder just to get rid of the ghosts haunting them.  This book is action-packed from word one and will keep you laughing as these three woman try to work on finding answers.  I was unable to put this book down once I began reading waiting in anticipation as this group unravels the mystery of Justin's murder.

This is my first time reading Elizabeth Hunter and I loved this storyline and how everything came together.  Besides the who-done-it mystery it is also a slow burn romance.  Highly recommend both this book and this author!
