REVIEW - PRISCILLA'S STAKE by Annee Jones

Priscilla Sinclair didn't know why her father was so determined to marry her off.  She was getting tired of him introducing her to all his business associate's sons.  And now he is telling her he is thinking of moving from Chicago to the Oklahoma territory to get into cattle ranching with a man from his gentlemen's club.

The last thing she could imagine is her immaculately dressed father in a cowboy hat lassoing cattle.  Then he gives her an ultimatum, go to Oklahoma and stake a claim or stay and she will marry the first man who expresses an interest.

Ladd's father died in a mine explosion and he blames it on Franklin Sinclair's negligence.  He cares more about getting rich from the miners digging his precious silver.  And his spoiled brat of a daughter that he parades around town.

Then his friend Shane tells him he has the answer to their problem so they no longer have to work in a factory and can be their own boss.  They can make a stake in Oklahoma and go into business together.  A land grab.

This is a short read, but full of action.  It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.  This is a historical piece based on the Land Rush of 1889.  I really enjoyed Priscilla and Ladd's story and look forward to reading more by Annee Jones.
