Blood taken requires blood given - that's the law in the Four Families and Anya admitted to Renata that she had killed Vigo.
It was the Vittori's turn to host the Four Families quarterly talent reception. When Nicholai and Ezra arrived they noticed immediately that Anya wasn't in attendance, but Vigo had planned a grand entrance with Nicholai's former talent slave and obsession. When they laid eyes on the skeletal form that she had become they were enraged and Nicholai who had already decided he needed to get Anya back because he realized the mistake he had made gave Ezra permission to find her so they could steal her away.
Nicholai had been injured as they escaped the Vittori mansion, but as much as Anya and Ezra hated it they needed him alive in order to escape from the private island.
This has been one of the most intense series I have read in a while! These characters are full of depth and you can feel the evil emitting from their skin. Like the previous two books in this trilogy it is full of action and danger. This storyline has gripped me from the beginning to end with all the twists and turns wondering how Anya and Ezra were going to escape the horrors of their captivity.
There is so much I want to say about this book, but it would lead to so many spoilers. Just know that I sat down and read these three books straight through until turning the final page. The last few chapters of this book were so heartrending that I couldn't stop crying, but we finally get our HEA.
"Mine?" "Yours." Despite their terrifying circumstances they found each other and this book gets steamy hot with the moments that Anya and Ezra are able to steal away.
This is my first time reading Brynn Ford, but after this series I will definitely be reading more. Next up is Murphy's story and I am so excited to see how this previous Head of the O'Shea family redeems himself enough to have his own story.
This series has major triggers which included rape, human trafficking, torture and violence and just plain depravity, but it will keep you on the edge of your seat from page one. I highly recommend this read.
Start the series now!
