Abigail and her boyfriend Trent were hiking when they found the ruins of an old homestead and decided to take a closer look. As soon as they entered the cabin they were overcome by the rancid smell and when they entered the single bedroom they found the source.
There was a woman laying on the bed wearing a wedding dress and holding a bouquet of flowers on her chest. They couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Sheriff Sebastian Archer had left the FBI so he didn't have to deal with this type of situation any longer. He had returned to his small hometown nestled in the Rockie Mountains after the death of his best friend and became co-guardian to Abigail. He hated that she had to be the one to find the dead woman's body. She had been through enough having been the sole survivor of the car accident that took the lives of both her parents.
He was heavily concerned with how much Abigail's aunt London favored his victim and if his hunch is correct...all of the victims. He thinks he is dealing with a serial killer who is using his town as his killing grounds. He has found three other deaths that have similar mo's to his victim and he is determined that London not be his next victim.
I absolutely loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. London has always had feelings for her older brother's best friend, but is determined to keep her distance scared that getting involved with Seb would harm his relationship with Abigail if they ended up not working out.
This is the first book I've read by Ashley A Quinn and I will definitely be reading more. The storyline kept me rooted to the spot and I couldn't put the book down. Not only is this a murder mystery, but it is also a smoking hot romance.
This book is full of action, suspense and smoking hot chemistry. Every time I thought I had a suspect within grasp, there would be a twist that put the light on someone else. I love all of the secondary characters and this author has woven a story with descriptions that make you feel at home in this small town and I look forward to seeing what is in store for this small town next.
