Coy was excited about his graduation party. He was finally back home after spending his whole life at boarding school. His mother was a local teacher and she made sure to invite everyone who had graduated this year so he could reconnect with kids from kindergarten and hopefully make some friends.
Coy couldn't take his eyes off the girl when she arrived at the party. When he asked her to dance he was happy when she said yes and they spent every dance with each other.
Coy and Lila were both confused and outraged when both their families forbade them seeing each other. They didn't understand why they were so determined to keep them apart. So they decided to see each other in secret.
I loved this book. The book jumps back in time immediately to his parents and that threw it off for me initially, but I'm glad I stuck it out. Because his dad is a piece of work! And her family isn't much better.
This book is full of conflict, betrayal and pain. The characters are amazing and the storyline is complex.
I would highly recommend this book.
