Elena allows her coworkers to drag her out for her 23rd birthday although she would prefer to be home. She just didn't fit in with their carefree partying. As she makes her way to her favorite private spot on the rooftop of the bar she finds it occupied. When she sees who it is she's glad he doesn't recognize her. It's better that way.
Alexander can't shake the sparks of familiarity he keeps getting from looking at "Diana" even though he's sure they've never met, but it's nice to be able to escape his responsibilities for an evening and just enjoy spending time talking and dancing with her.
Elena is at her wit's end trying to figure out how to continue her mother's health care. She has been in a coma since her car accident 8 years ago and Elena has already gone through her eight million dollar trust account to make sure her mother stayed alive. She would do anything to save her mom's life even all her dignity.
Alexander's grandfather is demanding that he marries before signing over the family business to him. When he finds out who Diana truly is he is furious. He'll help her with her mother's care and in exchange, she will help him keep the family's business in his hands. He will also get the satisfaction of getting back at Elena's brother for stealing his fiance.
What an amazing story! I laughed and I cried. Elena with her selfless love for her mom. The pain and misery her mother was put through. Elena and Alexander's chemistry is off the charts and the sex is smoking hot! When Elena finds out what truly happened to her mother, well let's just say that payback is a real b#$ch!
I cannot recommend this book high enough! I give it 10 stars. I can't wait to read more of Catharina Maura's books.
