REVIEW - CLAIMED DARKER by Em Brown

Bridget was on her way back to California after spending time in Thailand with Darren to attend his cousin's wedding.  It was her first time out of the United States and she had an awesome time despite the stitches in her lip.

Bridget hated that she was unable to reimburse Darren for the trip to Thailand.   He paid for everything - the 1st class international flight, the enormous villa, and gorgeous clothes.  He said if she really wanted to pay him back she could spend one night with him at his club.  The BDSM side.

They are on their way to a restaurant with Amy and JD to celebrate her grant approval when the two guys are shot in a driveby outside of Darren's club.  Who wanted them dead and how were the girls missed.

Bridget can't believe how much she is enjoying the things that Darren does to her.  She would have never believed she would be into BDSM.  Darren and all he does to her is all she can think about.  She can't see herself ever being without him.

Darren has to go to Hong Kong for business which works out because it's her week for finals.  When she realizes that her notes are at Darren's she has someone let her into his apartment and ends up crashing there.  When she gets home the next day she finds one of her roommates in serious condition and Amy dead from carbon dioxide poisoning.

She then finds out that it was JD.  He put out a hit on both her and Amy.  She had to leave town NOW especially since she also found out that Darren was part of the Triad.

Em Brown hit this Claimed series out of the ballpark.   It kept my attention from page one of Claimed.  The characters are all amazing in this series.  They are all fully developed (some more than others) and the dual POV really helps add more depth to the storyline.

I love Bridget who is determined to follow the rules but still wants to visit the dark side.  She has no interest in Darren's money and doesn't understand why his sadistic tendencies turn her on so much.

Darren grew up in the Triad but was determined to avoid that life for his mother.  But, they keep trying and he starts to wonder if he can lead two lives to keep Bridget from knowing about that side of his business.  I love Darren's struggles regarding his feelings for Bridget.   He fights his attachment in his head, but he just can't stay away from her.

The storyline is action-packed and full of suspense.  I can see this as a movie series.  Em Brown brought the pages to life for me and I both loved the conclusion and hated for this book to end.

This book will push all your triggers, but the chemistry between Bridget and Darren is off the charts smoking hot!

I highly recommend this book and would suggest you read them in order to truly understand the story.
